Challenge template

Couples workout challenge: a template for two people

Two people want to support each other while having different experience, energy or schedules. Neither needs to become the other person’s coach or supervisor.

A shared agreement with individual goals

The goal is support. Each person keeps their own commitment and can ask for a pause. Shared recognition depends on both meeting their own goal, not completing identical workouts.

Choose useful support

Ask whether the other person wants a message, an end-of-day check-in or a conversation at the weekly review. Reminders help only when welcome.

Write each commitment separately and make any shared meeting optional. The agreement should still work when schedules do not align.

An example for a duo

One person chooses two activity days and the other three. They can add an optional meeting, but individual commitments remain their own. If both complete what they chose, the duo has completed the week.

The template works for two friends as well as a couple. The planner fixes the participant count at exactly two.

Review without blame

At the review, each person describes what worked and what needs to change. If someone cannot participate that week, agree on a pause or change the next period without making up sessions.

No individual winner is required. If you choose to compete, accept a tie without demanding more effort or changing goals at the end. Do not make participation a test of affection or commitment to the relationship.

What this template changes

It organizes two people, not a special couples mode in Rally. The app’s friends and groups features remain available under their actual rules, and its points system does not change.
